Happy New Year (Belated) 2011

Happy new year, folks!

I have put my Xmas decorations away from the year, except the door sprig, which will go out with the trash. (It is natural pine, which will not last long, and I have nowhere to store it anyway.) I also helped put away Madre's tree and decorations.

My sister the teacher has returned from Korea, with Korean doodads for everyone. I got a kitchen magnet in the form of a Korean taegeuk fan, a bright red tassel ornament and a keychain.

I hung the tassel, with its picture of two dancing storks from which the tassels hang, between my living room windows on a nail. It is a nice spray of color on my bland white and beige walls.

The ornament on the keychain is a black plastic disk with vertical plastic gold staves on which hangul and hanja are written. I recognize some of the hanja, as they are similar to kanji; but the hangul is unreadable.
