Ten Years After …

I have culled more than fifty books out of my library. Most of them are outdated technical books, especially on Windows XP. I have donated them to the local library for the Book Sale during Museum Days.

And now, a plug about the Book Sale: Visit our library annex (which we now call the old library) for the Friends of the Fairmount Public Library Book Sale, 23-25 September 2011, 5-8 p.m. Thursday, 1-8 p.m. Friday, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday. Saturday is our bag sale: Fill a paper grocery bag full of books for five dollars! The annex is on the southeast corner of Main and Adams Streets, and is visible (or should be) from the streets. Proceeds benefit the Friends of the Fairmount Public Library, which in turn helps the local library in this time of decreasing tax receipts.

I also thatch-raked three bags full of dead grass and weeds off most of my yard. It does rain off and on now, but it is never enough to bring the grass back to life. At least I timed it right after the thatch-raking on Sunday: After I finished, it rained heavily.

I had planned an entry about the Muslim Attacks, but it got so long that I decided to make it a Web essay instead.
