Golderrod Blossoms

It is late summer, and the goldenrods have started blossoming into bright yellow tiny flowers. I have two massive goldenrod plants growing next to my deck, and they are looking lovely.

The one mouse I have captured last week appears to be the only one in the house. I had assumed more than one, under the rule of thumb If you see one mouse, you probably have a dozen. But no, it was just that one mouse. I cleaned out under the kitchen sink, and retired the mouse trap.

I had assumed that my niece Megan was stuck with a Minecraft server she could not upgrade. But I have learned that she, too, is playing version 6.2.1 with the horses and the mobs of (zombie) mobs. She has even learned to ride the horses, something I have never managed.

For most of this week, I will be cat-sitting for my sister the ex-teacher while she drives to Upper Michigan with our sister the editor, who is house-hunting. I never thought that I would see those cats again. They are very nice cats, except that their owner is out teaching English in some city between the Pacific and Mount Fuji. Hum, what is that city's name again? Hoozie?

Okay, the first week of school is over, and we got public printers going in and out of repair as the students print out their syllabri, resumes, course assignments, and other such stuff that could better be put in PDF format but which most of the professoriate will not accept as such.
