Cold Medical Day

I still have my ticket to the circus, which may have been held yesterday. The weather was cold and rainy, though, so I do not know whether it was held or canceled. I will put the ticket in the Friends of the Library record book for this year.

This was a half-day at work today. Mostly I wrestled (figuratively) with the new test iMac I got a couple of weeks ago. I may have to redo this, because frankly I am not satisfied with how Mauve Mavericks handles file permissions and network settings.

In the afternoon I had blood drawn for two blood tests at the Ball Memorial family clinic, and had my teeth cleaned at the dentist's. I had intended to have the blood work done at a place called LabCorp, of which my employer would have paid 100%. Both when I saw the sign requiring my credit card, I thought f◊◊◊ this and left for Ball Memorial. I do not carry my credit card on my person, and I would not willingly have it recorded on some file that crackers would be more than happy to break into. The dentist visit was uneventful, because I take very good care of my teeth. I did notice there were more people in that office since my dentist's partner retired and sold his practice to a gentleman named Suding.

Most of my orders for the past month have arrived except the one for the works of Lexxy Douglass. I am expecting a book of her illustration work and a bee-on-gear pin. I assume that it will be forthcoming after she has returned from TCAF.

I broke down and bought cat stickers and a comic from Abby Howard. The main barrier was Etsy because I was reluctant to create yet another account. Now I shall wait to see whose works reach me first: Ms. Abby's or Ms. Lexxy's.

If you are unfamiliar with either Web artist, they were contestants on last year's Strip Search. Visit the site for more info. I wish Penny Arcade would get off its collective pugo and issue the DVD of the series.
