Domain Regained

I have installed one of the air conditioners last weekend. It is the small GE in my bedroom window. The bigger one will wait until I can find some way to position it so that its exhaust pipe is easier to handle.

The Spoons Noir poster is in my hands after paying the 71¢ postage due because, for some reason, the Post Office decided that the poster did not qualify for Media Mail rates.

Here is an interesting quote from an op-ed in the Saturday (7 May 2014) Chronicle-Tribune:

The president seems oblivious to the gravity, indeed the very nature, of what he has just done. Which is why a stunned and troubled people are asking themselves what kind of man they have twice elected to lead them.

You can say that about any of the three presidents since Bush the Elder. We have elected losers because the only alternatives were even bigger losers. And ever since the Muslim Attacks of 2001 the country has been reduced to an oligarchy; but what do you expect from a country of 300 million people in which representative democracy is meaningless?

Thanks to the good work of MyDomain, I got my andy.west.name domain and site back. It was a close thing. I had forgotten to renew the domain: And if you lose that domain name even a day, domain parkers will seize it and hold it for ransom.

I need to get to work redesigning that site and my andywest.org site as well.

I also have to design my Web sites to look good on Opera. I stopped using Firefox at home two months ago. In my eyes Firefox has gotten a really bad rep due to the Eich fiasco and to its decision to adopt digital control management. It may be that the Mozilla Foundation has gotten so bureaucratic and so dependent on Google for its money that it has become corrupt. Maybe it is their time, if you catch my drift … unless they change their minds, unless they repent.
