Easter Dinner

On Easter my sisters cooked up a pot roast and mashed potatoes dinner for Madre. (They also cooked broccoli, but my sister the editor for reasons put the pot on an already-crowded dishwater top. The pot obligingly fell on the floor.) They took the dinner to Madre at Easter noon, and took me along. The dinner was good. They also took a small Easter basket for which I donated a couple of eggs I myself colored.

The day before I have laid grass seed and peat moss on decidedly bare sections of my lawn, so that there will be grass, I may hope, in a month or so. The grass on the rest of the lawn is just there right now; I do not expect to mow my lawn until the first week in May. I want the grass to be tall (> 1″) this year so as to smother the weeds.

I also raked out the mulch from the front of the shed and replaced it with rocks, so that the boxelder bugs will have no place to mate this year.
