Madre got a chest cold just like mine. Only neither were chest colds, according to Madre's nurse: They are bronchitis brought on by the pollen from all the corn around us. I had to help Madre while she was recovering. I myself am mostly pass the worst part of the sickness.

It is my hope that the next vacation will not be spent being ill. I have to take my cat Thyme to the vet, for which I have to get her into a carrier. This is an annual thrill, as Thyme does not want to go into the carrier, does not want to go to the vet. Fortunately, I have worked out a way to trap her so I can wrap her in a thick towel and shove her into the carrier.

During my vacation I got my DSL back. Having a filter in the wrong phone line did not help. I was told that broadband speeds will improve within the next sixty days.

I have weaned the print job release stations of drive mappings, replacing them with UNC paths in their configurations. This gets around the problem that Windows 7 has with drive mappings: On bootup, it maps a drive but does not connect to them.
