It Had To Be Done

Let's get this painful event out of the way: I had to clean out the exhaust duct on my dryer when my clothes would not dry out. The duct was completely clogged by the nest within. I was forced to kill with a hoe the two chicks in the nest as fast as I could, as the cold night or a predator attack would have been a more miserable death.

I took a dowel, cut it into two four-inch pieces, and made it into a cross with some twine. It forms a barrier inside the dryer vent to keep that damn bird from ever again building a nest in my exhaust duct.

I have taken the bicycle (which I have gotten from Vickie) to Kirk's Bike Shop in Muncie for the advanced tune-up, which I hope will restore the bike to rideable condition. I am told it will take a couple of days. This will cost me the high side of a hundred bucks, but to have a functional bike once again is worth it.

Madre just got railings installed on the back steps and on the basement stairs of her house. It also looks like Callie gets to return to Madre's this weekend or next. Probably next, after Madre gets the brace on her leg taken off.

By the way, my orders from Abby Howard are on their way. It looks like my orders from Abby (15 May) beat that from Lexxy Douglass (2 May). Props to Abby!
