Summer Vacation 2

This week I am on vacation.

On Monday I tried to take my cat to the vet. I could not: My cat has magic powers of disappearance, so I had to reschedule the appointment for Thursday.

On Tuesday, after mowing my lawn, I went to my dentist to have fitted a temporary crown on my molar. It was, um, interesting to lie on that chair, having my molar sculpted with a drill to fit the crown, then have what looks like yellow plasticene shot from a chaulk gun to get impressions of my tooth, then have something called diatomaceous earth used to make an impression of the teeth above the molar. (BTW, I was wrong in a previous entry: The crown comes during the visit in August.) After all this, I got a haircut at the Ball State student center.

Today I got my driver’s license renewed. It was less of a hassle than I had expected. Later I went to Fry’s to buy accessories for my iPod and other Apple stuff. I swear, Fry’s is becoming more and more of a disappointment. It seems sparser and full of junk. It certainly did not have the Apple stuff I was looking for. So, I went to the Keystone at the Crossing mall. I do not like going there; the ethos of excess there turns my stomach. And the Apple Store? I last visited it on a weekend, and it was crowded. Today I visited on an off day, and it is still crowded. It is not for lack of space inside. It is that popular. And, I did find what I was looking for:

  1. Protective casing for my iPod.
  2. A loop handle so that I do not accidentally drop my iPod.
  3. A USB3 hub (four extra ports) for my main box (which is not a Mac).
  4. A stand for my MacBook Air to get it off the floor.

Last word: Avoid the MacDonalds on SR 9/109 in Anderson. They botched my order, and I am out seven dollars.
