Within Thirty Meters of Lexxy Douglass

I made one more try to visit GenCom today.

I overcame the parking hurdle by parking in the south lot of the Lucas Oil Stadium and walked. I did not have to walk outside for long; after crossing South Street, I found an entrance to a long, long hall with a gold and green geometrical mural that led to the convention.

Then came another hurdle in getting into the exhibition hall of GenCon -- and it was enough. I could not find where the Will Call booth was. I am sure it was in plain sight, but hey, I have not been to a convention in decades, so how would I know? There was a set of booths that said exhibition hall, but that could have been anything.

What I did see was the halls surrounding the Exhibition Big Room, with the attendees (one of whom I bumped into by accident) and the cosplay and the singularly odd tableau set up by Wizards of the Coast. I did look into the big room a couple of times; it looked very crowded to me, even if it is a Friday (no kids).

But, without that pass, I could not get in. And Ms. Douglass was in there, in the artists' booths. (Some guy named Scott Kurtz is in there, too, but meh.) And I was within thirty meters of her. I guess that I must be content with that. Unless she gets a cerebral aneurysm that makes her attend Museum Days, I may have to wait until next year, when I will request my pass by mail.
