17 May 1999 Edition
[Translated from the original Esperanto.]
It's been a long time since the last update of this page. During that time:
- My new computer now works fine without crashing and without complaining when I try to restart it. I had to pay a lot of money in order to buy a new monitor, because my former monitor cannot tolerate the new AGP video card.
- I subscribed to an Internet provider, which I can access with a local telephone number. The provider and my local telephone company are subsidiaries of the same company, Frontier. The new provider saves me money because I do not need anymore to dial a long-distance number in order to connect to my other provider, CIOE. Also, I receive ten megabytes for a Web site, so I have put my Web page there.
- I became sick from bronchitis, which showed itself as a dull pain in my chest at night just before I go to sleep. The prescription drugs I bought for it are shockingly expensive! This has had an ill effect on the following two events.
- During the first week in May I had my first paid holiday — and I spent part of it at Purdue University.
- The first anime, which I ever watched and by which I have become an anime fan — Video Girl Ai — is now commercially available from Viz. The problem is, that I now cannot afford the tapes because of my bronchitis. Fortunately, I have already paid for the second half of the KOR video collection from AnimEigo.
