Adobe Reader

This free reader program started life as Adobe Acrobat Reader for viewing and printing PDF documents created with Adobe Acrobat. Adobe has expanded the program to read e-books and view SVG (vector graphic) images. Therefore, starting with version 6, the program is now known as Adobe Reader.

These instructions assume you are installing version six. Versions 5.x, under the name Acrobat Reader, are set up similarly.

  1. Press the Start button and choose Run…; or, Press Win-R.
  2. In the Open field, type X:\path\AdbeRdr60_enu_full.exe.
  3. Press OK.

The setup first expands the installation files, then does the installation.

  1. When the Adobe welcome box appears, press Next.
  2. Press Enter for each screen.

When the setup is finished, you may have to restart the workstation.

When Adobe Reader is first launched, a legal boilerplate page will appear first. Press Accept and it will not appear again.
